Chesapeake Energy Records Record Shale Production
A milestone for a natural gas producer: Chesapeake Energy says its daily production in the Barnett Shale has exceeded 1 billion cubic feet per day.
Its monster well in Mansfield has peaked at 16.4 million cubic feet per day, more than what two large Chesapeake wells produced on average this summer.
Chesapeake is the second-largest gas producer in the Barnett Shale, which sits on about 20 North Texas counties.
Chesapeake said its total output from four major shales is more than 2 billion cubic feet per day.
Chesapeake energy is a funder of the American Clean Skies Foundation, which supports Clean Skies News.
